Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We had a thread many months ago about Postpartum depression. I was just wondering how everyone was doing half a year later.

I've had a baby since then and am dealing with postpartum anxiety attacks, but very little depression, praise God! The anxiety is bad enough though, lol.

Praying that everyone is doing well.

Hi Amy,

Thanks for thinking of everyone and for sharing your positive take on your postpartum struggles. My struggles have been mainly organizational...which can easily lead to anxiety (if not actually attacks.) I thought I had cleared way for baby but found I needed to clear more...and more...and, well you get the drift. Here's the link to our first go around with
post partum depression . I'm praying that all are doing well and perhaps would like to share some gained wisdom.

Love,

Amy,

I'm glad that you're not going through post-partum depression!

Previous experience with anxiety attacks has shown me that often a magnesium deficiency is the cause. Once I started taking a magnesium supplement, they went away. Magnesium is pretty safe even in larger doses (I wouldn't take more than 1000mg on a daily basis though).

There's lots of research on the net regarding this - a googal search will give you a ton of links. But what really convinced me was reading it in Marilyn Shannon's book Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition (available at the Couple to Couple League and at Amazon.com).

Good luck!

Of course, personal experience with extra magnesium convinced me the most
