it's getting slim picking to find boy names that meet certian criteria:
5 letter name from the bible for the first name
can't be anyone we know irl dead or alive
or have the same first letter of any siblings
that rules out:
any first names beginning with A, B, C, D, E, J, K, or T. Rob is iffy on M and R.
plus many other whole names already taken by family members
So let's make a list ladies!
Oh and we were willing to tweak a bit for a good name with Tobias. It isn't 5 letters but his nickname is Tobey.
Shall I start?
I like Nathanial for a middle name
I also like Thomas and Francis and Timothy - all names my beloved has flat out rejected for no good reason, imho.

Well, if you decide that M is okay, I really love Micah.

do you mean Saints names are out??
dh has a "thing" for Saints names- and their stories. He is not keen on OT Biblical names at all unless they have been carried over into a New Testament or Catholic Saint.
example: Isaac is ok because of Isaac Jogues, the North American Martyr, etc.
I have a thing that I don;t like danglies- you know like I would not have a Mary because of the dangly "y" but Maria was ok.
however, I "caved" for Joseph (who is Joe these days, HA! ) because we wanted our first boy Joseph and our first girl if we ever had one, to be named after Our Lady...

A second vote for Peter. I didn't really want it when dh picked it, but I love it now. Isn't it funny how that works, once it's attached to your child?

Martha
My friend has a one/two syllable, five letters or less, Biblical policy so her ds' names are
Jesse (out for you I know)
Caleb (mmm that is out too)
Isaac
Noah
Levi
I know the last two are four letters but she was running out of options.
Oh she liked Jonah too but thought that was too much with Noah, anyhow that is another J for you.
Would you consider a different number of letters?
I have a Malachi.
Well maybe I should start a new thread on unusual saints names for boys because I've run out of ideas.

Given you have A-E, and F would seem a logical inclusion, you could always follow the 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' route and have Frank(incense)...

How about Simon?
Besides being biblical, reminds me of the boy from that tv show "7th Heaven".

Good suggestion, I love that name! Can I change my vote from Peter to Simon?

What about Samuel and go with Sammy as the 5 letter nickname?
I like Isaac, too, and Isaiah, though it is 6 letters and I can't think of a possible nickname.
And if you can get past the iffiness of M and R I like Micah as well or Moses and also Ruben is nice, the great-great-whatever-grandfather of Jesus. Plus, I like the story of Ruth.
