Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was disappointed to see this morning that Bumbo Seats are being recalled. It looks like the only problem is if the seat is on a raised surface, but I may be missing something.

Yes, it's not exactly a recall. They are changing the warning to make sure people don't put the Bumbo on any raised surfaces, since some babies have been seriously injured.

We used one of these the other day (we were watching the CUTEST 7 month old) and it is soooo cool .... I sure wish they'd had these when mine were itty-bitties .... but y'know what, anyone who'd put a baby in the bumpo and then on a table and walk away ...... I mean some common sense should be assumed?????

We have one too, it was a gift. It is a really neat idea for a baby who is not yet sitting but wants to sit up or if you just need to keep them in one plae for a little bit, but my little one has rather big thighs and she hasn't been able to use it because she gets stuck in it!
I agree about the using common sense and not putting it up on a table or something and then walking away.
So we don't have to do anything really, right? Just make sure the baby is on the ground? My SIL is having another baby and I know she will get one, so I just wanted to warn her.

My DS also has big thighs and gets stuck in the bumbo

I do love the idea, though. Isn't it the same as not leaving a baby on a raised surface in ANY kind of seat? Some of those bouncy seats could be just as dangerous, I'm sure.
