Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Our dishwasher is about to die. Any recommendations for one?

We got a new dishwasher two years ago, a GE, and it is a piece of junk. I hand wash the dishes and use it as a drainer. The Kitchen Aid we had before that was quite the workhorse, we did 4 loads a day and it lasted a bit over 10 years. I would love another KA.

We got a Bosch to replace the one in our previous home. I researched a lot and got the best one available at the price point we could afford (about $600). It was REALLY quiet, we loved the stainless steel inside andhow well it cleaned. It's one of the few material things that dh and I *both* agree that we miss.

Not a fan of GE here, either. Last GE we had overflowed at least once a month, and the repair guy was no help. We replaced it with a top of the line Kenmore that works well.

We aren't hip on GE either, and bought a Kitchen Aid a year ago. It's a good machine, BUT we did just replace the motor and from what I hear that's not uncommon. I like the machine a lot, but I'd sure advise the extended warranty option - we did and boy are we thankful!
