Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was going to reply to the Moby thread before, but I was afraid I was going to be totally off topic, so decided to post a new thread.
I got a Moby thanks to the suggesions here, and my baby is a month old now. I've been using since we got out of the hospital and it's been WONDERFUL for everything from camping and hiking (yes...camping and hiking at 2 1/2 weeks postpartum...I must be crazy) to church events to doubling as a blanket on cool nights in the car or to cover up while nursing in public. I love it. However, it hasn't been so handy with housework!
I tried a couple of back carries today for the first time. I went to wearyourbaby.com and first tried the Back Wrap Cross with zero success. I got frusturated and the baby was upset. Later I tried the Rucksack and thought I did well; I was very excited and Colette wasn't complaining. Well, as I was making the bed, she started falling out the bottom!! I thought it was tight enough, in fact, I was concerned about her circulation being cut off in her legs! Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I need some encouragement! Arg!
Lisa, what carry are you using in your pictures in your blog and in the thread below? It looks very secure and comfortable (I don't really like the wrap around my waist since it accentuates my postartum belly!), but I didn't see it on the wear your baby website.
Help!

Andrea, I wear my own variation of the BWCC. A MOBY is NOT GOOD for a rucksack carry unless you are VERY comfortable and adept at doing back carries. (You have to get used to how it 'feels' to have baby on your back securely.) A wider, non-stretchy wraps is much better, like an Ellaroo wrap or homemade version of one. When you do a rucksack, you need to make sure the baby's bottom is covered to the knees and you wrap the 'straps' over top of the wrap, under baby's bottom.

I don't like things tied around my waist either, that is why I don't do your typical bwcc. I don't really know how to explain how I do it. It's much easier to demonstrate in person. Maybe I could recruit my daughter to do a photoshoot? I don't even know if that would cut it. I've been doing back carries for YEARS, so I really take it for granted.
