Sebastian is 21 months old, and he still wakes up once (sometimes also in the early morning) in the middle of the night. He's very easy, though. I change his soggy diaper, give him a bit of milk in a bottle, and he soothes himself back to sleep. I've tried NOT giving him a bottle in the middle of the night so he'll learn to keep sleeping through it, but he'll scream for an hour (or more) and that totally rattles my husband's sleep. Which is bad because, you know, he gets up very early for his job.
When did your babies start sleeping through the night? I can't remember with my older two. And Miguel (5) still comes now and then to our room at night.
Maybe a full night's sleep is something I'll have later in life ... LOL

Depended on the baby!! But fyi:
6 yo. still gets up to go to the bathroom (and up until age 3 or 4, he wanted to see us too); 4 yo. NEVER gets up and has been like that since he was 16 mo. -- he likes his sleep; 2 yo. joins me every night; and almost 1 yo. gets up once or twice.
So I'm not much of a help!

My kids have all varied. But I still have some who wake up and come in, even up to age 9! We do let them in the bed, so it has never been an issue trying to get them back to sleep.
My poor 16 month old (#7) wakes occasionally at night, but she soothes herself back to sleep and we don't go get her unless she really gets upset.
I would try to wean him off of the bottle at night, just because it is a habit he will hold on to and it will only delay everyone sleeping through the night. Do you think changing him wakes him more? I rarely change a diaper at night, even with cloth. I find they end up wide awake by the time I am done.
Maybe you could try skipping the diaper change and just going in and rubbing his back to see if that works.
Sorry if this isn't really coherent, I am going on six days with no sleep myself because of a bad cough.
Just a little amusing side note: I have a t-shirt I bought way back when from a club we used to frequent in our single days. On the back it reads "I'll sleep when I'm dead". It's amazing how when you are 20 and single that sounds like fun, "who needs sleep?" And when you are 37 with a houseful it just sounds like a truthful picture of life, "sleep-what's that?"
God bless you!

Every baby is different, although, the more I had, the better they got at sleeping through the night. Part of me believes it's because I stopped fighting it and really enjoy the night feeds as the only time I get to have quiet time with a new baby - then, of course, they sleep through at about 4 - 6 months!
My eldest has never slept through the night - sorry! She's 23 and married and recently diagnosed with sleep apnoea.
Have you thought about offering your baby warmed water in his bottle? They generally will take a few sips but don't consider it worth waking for. I also resist changing a night time nappy. If using cloth nappies, try a double one. I actually gave up that battle and now use a disposable for the night nappy. In the balance of the greater cosmos, I figure a functioning mother outweighs a naughty nappy.
