Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

thank you for sharing!

several yrs ago, for financialy reasons we had to do without many many fun and material things. that lasted for a while also, lol.
but throughout that time frame... when I couldn't just go clothes shopping just because, or pick up that cute pair of shoes for my dds, or buy that cool toy my ds has been wanting....I realized that we didn't need those things. and throught that thought, I came to understand what we DO need...

I only have four, and only one boy. but my kids lean towards a bit roudier. they are rough on their clothes and toys. and our things. ( can I just get them to stop using our couch as a jungle gym / trampoline / divingboard / gymnastics vault, LOL).

and while I have learned to not put so much stock into this items, I do treasure the value they hold for me.

during this move several furniture items/appliances were broken. (my dryer! yikes!). most I was nonchalant about. no big deal, we will replace what we need etc.. but when they pulled my grandmother's old bench out and it was broken, I almost sat down and cried. I think I made the movers a bit nervous.... I wa just so bummed out. it can not be fixed but I am sure I can find something easily to replace it. but mostly it is what it represents to me. Just like the cheap earing....

none of the items we own are expensive. and many things are second hand, given to us, or found at garage sales. but they all have memories and emotions mixed in them.

BUT my most precious possessions?? my family, my kids. and they are worth more than all the others combined. so if a few things get broken here and there.... the trade off is huge! lol
