Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi everyone,

I'm excited to share that we will be adopting Natalie, an 11 year old girl, from Liberia!! You can read more about her story at the blog I just started to chronicle her adoption process:
http://tippettsfornatalie.blogspot.com/

We just brought home twin 4yo boys from Liberia in June. It has gone so well that we decided to start the process again. We don't have the money to cover a second adoption so soon but we saw the doors open wide in the direction of adopting Natalie and we feel sure it is God's will so He will make it possible.

We have just launched a promising fundraiser. Take a look at the site:
http://tippettsfornatalie.onedollaradoption.com/
We are trying to find 9500 people who will donate $1 each. The key is to spread this link as far and wide as possible. I would be so appreciative if any of you would share this link and a bit of our story with your friends, on your blog or website, or anywhere else that you can think of.

We are so excited to bring Natalie into our family!

PS. For some reason I can only get those links to come through on the bottom of the page so here they are:

I have wondered about doing something like this in order to fundraise for our adoption. Do you find that it is working? The money is the only thing that is holding us back - I ache for another child

We JUST launched this fundraiser yesterday. It hasn't even been 24 hours. You can watch the progress on the thermometer on our Natalie blog. I'm a little nervous. We are depending on it working! The crucial thing is that it get spread around so I guess it depends on who and how many people you know. And if you can get people to pass it on. I can give you the contact of the family setting these up. The dad had a lightening bolt idea in the shower one morning. They had just adopted a little boy (same orphanage as us) and then his cousins came into the orphanage. They are adopting them both! But like us they had just spent everything on their first adoption and had nothing left. They started this $1 Adoption thing and I think they have raised about $5000. Several other families have raise around the same. It is a small homespun operation.
