Kayleigh and I just finished watching The Arndt Family. They have 13 sons and 1 daughter.
You can go to their website and check out lots of good stuff. They homeschool as well and the older boys have all taken an online court recording course to help with the family businesses. They haven't gone to college nor do they feel the need to.
We really enjoyed it.
At one point one of the sons, when talking about his mother said, "Mom is the heartbeat of the family."
And I said, rather coyly: "Gee, I wish my kids thought of me as 'the heartbeat of the family'."
To which Kayleigh turned and with a roguish smile said, "Mom, you are the heartbeat of the family."
Thank you, honey. (Ask and you shall receive. )

I have watched them before. I like how Mrs Arndt talks about when they found that their dd was, in fact, a dd, and not another son...lol...

Boy, (pun intended! ) I was thinking these parents probably have a lot of advice about keeping peace and order in the home! This is my struggle now, and I only have 4 boys!

Mary, you were the first person I thought of when I saw that show. (My mom taped it for me.) They look like a fun family just like yours.

She's my hero! People always comment to me that I have a basketball team with my five boys. We all giggled when we watched the show and saw that she had her own softball team! Something to work for!

And wasn't it cool the way everyone pitched in and accepted their responsibilities around the house? How I wish I could get a glimpse of her "training program" ...I hope we're on the right track with my boys... I'd love to have some pointers!

I read a little about this family awhile back. One of the few times I wish we had cable! There is an elderly woman a few doors down from us that had 10 boys and her 11th was a girl!

Well, we have 9 boys and 2 girls ( one is not with us here on earth) and I deplore that show! It doesn't allow me to use the excuse that super mom A,B or C has a couple ( or more) teenage girls to help run the show in an orderly manner!
Seriously, they are a terrific family and it is lovely to see her looking so good and doing a great job with all her boys ( and girl!:) I wouldn't trade my sloppy and sometimes wild brood of men for anything, but that family is certainly inspiring! I LOVED when the Dad said they look at all the kids as individuals not as a big gang! Three cheers, Mr. Arndt!!

They are from my hometown. I believe that she was raised in a VERY large Catholic family and her father is a deacon.
