I was just wondering,( as I fold six sets of sheets),
what kind of sheets other moms of large families use?
My children love the character sheets, but, they wear so poorly...and pill-up....or just get thin very fast.
I love cotton, crisp and soft....but, wonder where I can get a good set of sheets at a fair, price for six sets (5 twin sz, 1 queen)? Any thoughts or ideas?
Blessings,

I always buy at least 200 thread count or they are too stiff and uncomfortable...The higher the threadcount the better. Target has 250 threadcount for a very reasonable price--I think I paid $20 for a full set and this price applied to all sizes of sheet sets... OH, and they had dusty pink, my 7 yr. old was in ecstasy!

Hello dear friend, can you go to Costco in Mt. Vernon?? They have wonderful 250+ thread count and always great prices, like $20 or under, the queen might be a little more if its Ralph Lauren or something, but we have had ours for a couple of years now and they get softer with every wash! You might even find whole bed in a bag sets. Target is always a good bet too.
HTH. Hugs.

We found some and comforters too at garage sales. Sheets were almost new at $1 so we don't really care if they wear out real fast.

Thanks Meredith for the Costco suggestion. I'll take a look there today! Good idea on the thread count, too. Jennifer, thanks for the Target suggestion....my girls love all the pinks, too! Stay cool you two.
Blessings,

We use flannel year 'round. When they start to wear out, they get softer and thinner but they still feel great. I usually buy them at Eddie Bauer, after Christmas. My kids have snowmen and reindeer on their beds in July .

Well, that's true about higher thread counts. But I just read an article that past 400 count it's an exaggeration and not necessarily that many threads per inch. So save your money and stick with 200-250 range was the suggestion.

I'm working on slowly replacing our sheets and towels with all white. Just makes laundry easier. Costco is great for basic, all white towels. Our Costco only had queen sheets though. I'll have to try Target for twins.
It won't be long before we have to get the extra long twin beds for our rapidly growing, soon-to-be, quite tall boys.

Just back from Costco, and they have switched seasons already to winter stock....so I may have to do what Elizabeth suggested...and go with the flannels. They are a good price, too. They had some sports ball
themes for boys and princess themes in flannel for girls. Thanks for all the ideas!
Blessings,
