Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This book that we read today is hard to describe -- Snip Snap! What's That? by Mara Bergman is a great story about three children and an alligator that pays a call. The writing is wonderfully exciting and the repeated "were they scared...you bet they were" really builds the excitement.

The ending is fabulous and helps dispel the anxiety of the surprise visit.

We really enjoyed this book too! It was on the new book shelf at our library which I eagerly scope out every library visit. I admit to liking the title so much I immediately put it in our library bag.

Good choice!!

Oh, we just read that one too (at the library storytime)! It was so cute to hear all the littles say together, "You BET they were!" Then they made alligator puppets out of lunch bags. Ours were "nice" alligators who picked imaginary bugs off my arms.
