I wanted to share a book we came across the other day at the library, The Lion and the Little Red Bird. I posted more about it at my (garden) blog.

Elisa Kleven is one of our favorite author/illustrators. We have a few of her books ~ Our Big Home and B is for Bethlehem. I am hoping to order a copy of Snowsong Whistling before fall.

Her author site is very interesting and has lots of neat activities to go with her books!

Oh Dawn, I LOVE Elisa Kleven! In fact, her art is the only original art that I own (and one of them is the storm from the Lion and the Little Red Bird). It is so great to meet another fan! Hooray, A Pinata! is one of my favorites and I LOVE The Puddle Pail.

You can sometimes get her books at Bookcloseouts.com. They have a couple right now (including a really nice one about the city of Los Angeles and The Paper Princess Finds Her Way.)
