Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

That we are huge fans of Tacky the Penguin at my house?

Tacky has really grown on me over the years. I first met Tacky the Penguin as himself, and then we read Tacky in Trouble, which is my least favorite Tacky book.

But I have to say that Tackylocks is probably my very favorite version of the three bears story. It is just enough off to be very humorous (IMO) .

I suppose Tacky is twaddle, but he's a very lovable twaddle to have around.

We loved Tacky when my ds17 was young. We only read Tacky the Penguin, and never owned it, but we will never forget it!

I've never heard of Tacky. But, if it's confession time, I have a thing for Max and Ruby. Even though my boys are too old I won't get rid of our dvds or books. Any young kids that come to my house will be forced to watch the dvds with me! I will provide free babysitting to any Max & Ruby loving kid.

I'm putting my six year old on an Amtrack to your house today.

Oh, we love Max and Ruby here, too.
My dc will still watch the dvds we have.

There is just something so human about them... Ruby the do-gooder, always trying to do the right thing and being overzealous at times.

Then there is Max, who is hen-pecked but somehow manages to land on his feet each time.

And then there is Grandma, who just understands that boys need red hot fire squirters. We all need a Grandma!

I think Max and Ruby is, in a way, a lot like Bugs Bunny. Made for kids, but really there is a lot in there for grown ups.

I never jumped in earlier, but meant to. I have a very soft spot for Tacky. I don't think he is tacky ...I mean twaddly...at all. This was such a funny book, one my older boys loved when they were little. Now I do think as they kept coming out with new Tacky books it was stretched thin, but the original I love.
