Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone made or know of a unit study for this book? I'm adding it to my August booklist and I'd like 1 or 2 projects to go with it.

Sorry I can't help you with that one... I wasn't totally impressed with that book. It felt a tiny bit contrived... like they looked for every possible way to squeeze every single Marian analogy into it an the end result felt very cramped.

But you could turn it into a scavenger hunt study! Depending on the ages of the kids, see how many analogies they can figure out (without consulting the back of the book)...

Otherwise any of the myriad Marian-themed projects would fit nicely with the book...

I felt the same way. I didn't like the book.

I thought someone had done a unit on a blog, but couldn't find it.

There is this old thread which discusses the book in general and the author, Josephine Nobisso, joined in the conversation as well. Addresses some of the ideas and symbolism.
