OK- So which Richard Scarry character is your favorite?

Goldbug? Postman Pig? Sgt. Murphy?

I feel I can speak with confidence in saying my children's favorites are Bop and Bonk

and Smudge the Chimney Sweep.

I am partial to Able Baker Charlie and Pig Will and Pig Won't.

BTW, it saddens me that Richard Scarry did not have a great squirrel character. What was he thinking???

My favorite Busy Town character is Lowly Worm

He probably had squirrels that raided his feeders and therefore was not partial to them as fictional characters...

Even though he didn't have a Busy Town squirrel character, I know he did have some squirrels in other books - one of rabbit's friends was a gray squirrel.

Well, as much as my boys thrill in finding Goldbug, I'd have to say that the most consistently LOVED character is Nicholas the rabbit from I Am a Bunny. All three boys would listen to that book perpetually even once they were "too old" for it.

Forgive me for double posting, but I must say that as a child, *my* favorite character (and my boys love him too) was Babykins

I am now going to go see what edition I have that I and 25 years later my children tore pages out of...
