Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm just curious... which BP tale do you love most?
My very favorite is "The Tale of Two Bad Mice".

Hmm... maybe because I have two naughty mice at my house, too

And because it is so much fun to say Hunca Munca out loud.

That's dd-8's gave too. Mine is "Pie and the Patty Pan". So unbelievably silly, that Duchess.

Definitely 'The Tale of Two Bad Mice' for me. I love looking at all the doll house miniatures!

Me or my boys?    My little guys love "Squirrel Nutkin." And it has grown on me. I've always adored "Peter Rabbit," though; I can still picture the exact place in our little town library where her books were kept.

Dd5 asks for Peter Rabbit every day. Fortunately, it is my favourite too.

Though I am also rather partial to Jemima Puddle Duck.

Me too!

And, I know we have a lot of newer members (and some older ones that might not know about this resource!), but if you haven't checked out this amazing Rabbit Trail/Unit Study put together from the OLD DAYS! It's a real treasure!

Beatrix Potter - Rabbit Trail/Unit Study

It's set up as a 6 week study, but I've been looking at expanding it a bit - stretching and accomodating in places to make it the basis of my upcoming 1st graders year. It fits well since next year my high schooler will be studying Beatrix Potter and her amazing contributions as a naturalist and artist, and of course my soon to be 5th grader will happily tag along with the literature (esp. the Redwall selections!)

So...if you haven't seen it...click over and gasp in delight!

Nope! But, it is great, isn't it!

I'm pretty sure MacBeth is an author, but I have no idea if there were other collaborators. Maybe Elizabeth? This is from the early, early days of the board. I'll ask around.

So timely! Great lesson plans! I hope I can pull it together this spring. Maybe I could get some help from Mrs. Tiggy Winkle, MY favorite Potter Character .

My favorite is Peter Rabbit, but I think the kids like Squirrel Nutkin the best. (Which is a bit worrisome, now that I think about it!LOL!)

I like The Flopsy Bunnies. I just love the word soporific. I think I will start a thread of words you love and are hoping some day to actually use, lol.

I"ve got to say "Squirrel Nutkin". Especially my oldest daughter used to walk up to random people and pose the riddle questions. Of course they had no idea what she was talking about, but it was very cute coming from a 3 year old. I personally love "Peter Rabbit", where the "good little bunnies" get a supper of "bread and milk and blackberries".

Peace,
Nancy

I think my favorite has to be Ginger and Pickles. I laugh out loud every time I read that Ginger cannot bear to watch the mice go out with their little packages.

My 2yo loves the character Tom Kitten, so her favorites are Tom Kitten and The Tale of Samuel Whiskers.

My 5yo loves the Tale of the Pie and the Patty Pan.

The Tale of the Two Bad Mice is also a favorite here. Like Melinda, I just love saying Hunca Munca

For someone who at first was not a BP fan, I now cannot think of a story I don't like. And often find myself relating to the characters at times. Too often these days I feel like Tabitha Twitchit. I find myself lamenting in my head to Cousin Ribby

This sounds like a wonderful idea! I will have a first grader next year, too. How are you incorporating Redwall for your 5th grader? My current 6th grader hasn't read them, yet, so that would be fun.

God Bless,
