The whole family enjoyed reading this book (even the 15 year old!) about all the ingredients that go into a Chocolate chip cookie. I have to say - I never really thought about baking soda before!

This might be a great read before baking Christmas cookies - especially if you do Chocolate chip. Yum!

I am going to expand this book into a whole little science unit for my boys.

The Gift of the Christmas Cookie is good for this season. Shares some of the history of Christmas cookies though they embellish it a bit. Good story of sharing as well.

Another favorite, especially for early math/division is The Doorbell Rang.

And of course a classic would be If You Give a Mouse a Cookie

Do Gingerbread Boy books count? - several favorites there .

i love it! please post it, mary? i was recently reading a list of "avoid these foods" and on it was baking powder, and i have no idea why!! so i've been thinking of doing a study on it.
