Raise your hand if you knew that tomorrow was A.A. Milne's birthday. My kindergartener and I have been reading the Complete Tales of Winnie-the-Pooh this week and in my web surfing I came across his birthdate. It sounds like a good excuse for a special tea time so we have decided to have a 100 Aker Woods Pooh Party on Friday. Yum! I was wondering if any of you ladies have a favorite pooh/bear/bee/honey etc. activity that would tie in to this rabbit-pig-bear trail. Ideas?

Is it good or bad that I knew it?

Hey Marjorie
- fun ideas- we made Eyores as a kid using peanutbutter playdough and toothpicks and fruit leather and what not.
Also -artichokes are thistles- artickoke dip? , artichokes bruchetta? whole artichokes?
Just a thought

Thank you for the reminder, Marjorie.
The girls and I were able to make some smackerels this afternoon and enjoy a mini-party during tea time (while reminising over another 100 Aker Party we had that seems like a long time ago but which was a mere five years ago).
Here's our mini-Pooh Party.
Ooops! Corrected the link.

Last year we made an Australian Honey Cake and read the little know A.A. Milne fairy tale called Prince Rabbit.
Thanks for the reminder! Things are crazy here getting ready for company, I hope we have time for some fun!

Oh yeah--I'm leaving on retreat Friday afternoon...won't a Pooh-themed tea be just the warm fuzzy to leave my little guys with?

We're about to start making crumpets—they're my favourite thing to have honey on:-) All being well, I'll blog how it went later this evening (I haven't made them since I was in Guides!)
Puggle is currently telling me he wants shaped crumpets—I think he's a little optimistic!
(Edited to add, I only knew because of Dawn's post:-) )
