We haven't used a formal Catholic resource - but just read Shakespeare and watched video versions and been to some community theatre and just talked!
Don't know if this will help but there is an online Shakespeare unit -
mini Shakespeare unit

Found this art site for Heroines of Shakespeare Plays which I thought might be good for notebooking and lapbooking purposes.

PBS had a show "In Search of Shakespeare" that discussed his possible Catholicism. My children have enjoyed Bruce Coville's Shakespeare stories. He presents them in an easy to understand way. The best way to do Shakespeare is to see it performed. Many towns have Shakespearean productions. Try doing a search under your town's name and Shakespeare.
I too have a Shakespeare lover.
God bless,
Maary

We decided to study Shakespeare this year. Well, I should say *I* decided they would study Shakespeare this year.
I have the book Shakepeare in the Classroom. At first they didn't want anything to do with it but right now as I am typing this they are in the classroom having a blast trying to read their parts.
I picked parts for them (3 each and I get the rest). At first they were only supposed to highlight their lines for next time but as they were highlighting they were skimming over the words and decided they wanted to start with the first scene.
Julia just told me that was the most fun she ever had! Emily thought it was the worst play ever but that is because they don't know all the lines yet. Kate said, "I want my money back." (as a paying customer, )
Anyway, you might try that book and see what you think.
Blessings,
Krisann

My daughters have absolutely LOVED the videos of Shakespeare's comedies ("Much Ado About Nothing" being our favorite), and we're planning on a unit to compare video and some book reading (not sure we'll tackle the whole text or just do excerpts)....thanks for all the sites above...the links look wonderful!
Hugs,
Laurel in PA

Just wanted to tell you that the "Living Books for the Ears" website is selling (at an introductory price of $19 through Monday) a MP3 CD with LOTS of Shakespeare on it, here. Though I haven't heard this CD (it's new), I have ordered from them in the past and been pleased.
(You can also sign up for a couple of free "shows" each week by going to www.homeschoolradioshows.com/)
P.S. I received an email that said that if you order the Shakespeare by Oct 1st, you will get the mystery CD included -- it's not going to be just for the first 100 customers!
P.P.S. I am not affiliated with the company, I just sound like I am!
