Librivox is such a great resource, but I admit to not using it as much as I should because A) I forget about it, and B) It is hard to know just what is available without randomly searching for older titles on the chance they are there.
One of our favorite finds recently were the Eva K. Betz titles. They are really wonderful but expensive to buy, and we enjoyed listening to them as a family on long trips this past year. It only just occurred to me today to click and see what other options are available by the same reader, Maria Therese, and it is a lot of great titles including First Communion Days, the original Angel Food series, and many more treasures.
Another favorite reader (probably a better reader but no Catholic titles) is Kara Shallenberg. She recorded This Country of Ours and some other Ambleside selections.
There is also an Orthodox radio podcast Under the Grapevine that has some great options. It is difficult to navigate and many of the options are, of course, Easter Orthodox, but there is also recordings of the Narnia books (legal and with permission) as well as Marigold Hunt's A Book of Angels and Lucia: Saint of Light.
Has anyone else come across some great finds available for free listening?

Oh I love those Under The Grapevine Narnia recordings. It's just the one lady (with such a nice voice) reading the books.
They were lifesavers to me in the hospital. I'd turn that on and lay down to sleep. Kept me from worrying which would keep me from sleeping.
I'll check out some of those.

I discovered an excellent reader - Elizabeth Klett. She is top-notch! I believe she is also a professional. She has recorded many classics, including Jane Austen, Edith Wharton, the Bronte sisters, and also Anne of Green Gables. Just browse her selections and find some new favorites! I have been so thrilled with all of her recordings!
Other favorites of my boys are The Adventures of...Johnny Chuck, Buster Bear, Jimmy Skunk, etc. - Thornton Burgess stories.
There are also several G.K. Chesteron essays on there. I didn't immediately connect with the reader on some, but maybe you will.
I love LibriVox!

Im really REALLY low-tech, but i was looking for a feeebie recording of Robinson Crusoe. Typed in "Robinson Crusoe free audible" and got a link to Jim Weiss reading unabridged Robinson Crusoe. It got 5star ratings and I must say, my 12 yo dd has been tearing thru it at high speed. She hadnt really clicked with reading the book, but this seems the perfect solution to get her launched. Ahe'a been down with the flu, so this has proven to be a good way to get in some "stealth schooling" too;-)
