Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have recommendations for a book for a young child about safety? I know the message is more likely to sink in with DD if it's in a story format. By safety, I mean things like looking both ways to cross the street, holding hands, not going near busy streets without a grownup, etc., not stranger danger.

Watch Out For Banana Peels is a Sesame Street book, but my dc loved it.

It is funny- sometimes silly- but it is full of great safety tips.

Another one of our favorites is Officer Buckle and Gloria

I think there are a few Richard Scarry books, also, that talk about safety.

Dinosaurs Beware! is a book my children have liked. I'm not sure how effective it is at reinforcing safety but the kids enjoyed and giggled at looking through it. The concepts are all there though...

Love all these recommendations. An older title (one that hasn't been reprinted that I can find) is Munro Leaf's Safety Can Be Fun.

I think manners overlaps safety themes, too. Sometimes what we say is for good manners is actually for good safety, too.

So books like Goops might be applicable here.

I'm trying to remember which Richard Scarry books cover this.
