I am looking for unit studies based on picture books, like Five In a Row, except I'd like something more CAtholic. Does such a thing exist?

Well, not as far as I know - not formally anyway. Now there are a variety of Catholic homeschool moms who have done unit studies in the FIAR tradition and incorporated Catholic elements. So some ideas & books can be found here in the picture book thread or on individual blogs, but it is going to be very scattered. I have written some unit studies for Homeschool Share and I have Catholic components which I didn't include there as it is not a faith-based site, but I do have them.

This is EXACTLY what I would LOVE to do , if I had the time - I would devote it to writing/compiling a blog exactly as you describe. At one time many years ago, "we" (other members here) talked about doing this together - it never got off the ground really.

Mary- thank you for your reply. I had not known there was such thing as homeschool share- now I have already been to the site and downloaded a few things!
I feel the same way you do- if I only had the time I would love to do a blog making Five In a Row more CAtholic! There is so much you could do!
Well, maybe in ten years I'll have time for soemthing like that
