Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello,
I need a little help... Ds wanted to begin reading Robin Hood. I bought the Dover Classic edition.... It's in Old English    It's real hard for ds to get what's going on because of the older language style.
Can someone recommend a version of Robin Hood that is true to the original and with "pretty" language (a bit more challenging than Children's Illustrated Classics) but not King James Version style
Thanks!
Alison

Alison,

We are reading Robin Hood right now also. I have Robin Hood - A Classic Illustrated Edition by Cooper Edens. It is a reprint of a 1906 edition but the language has not been difficult thus far. It is listed on Amazon.

Good luck,
Mary Kate

We have this book, an earlier version (ours is from 1946). Ds8 has enjoyed it a great deal. I'll have to check with him tomorrow about other favorite Robin Hood books--he's a big fan!

Hmmm... so it might just be an edition issue.... I will check 'em out.
Thanks ladies for the help! I feel a little like Goldie Locks: too soft... too hard...where is "just right"?
