Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone suggest some good books for covering the King Arthur Lengend?

I know there are several different ones available, but I'm unsure which are 'good' tellings of the tale.

Thanks!

We have two books, The Boy's King Arthur by Thomas Malory and illustrated by NC Wyeth and Howard Pyle's King Arthur and His Knights (There are multiple editions of both, these aren't the specific ones I have).

I like Howard Pyle's writing style, but I didn't finish the book yet because it was a little too much for my 5 and 3 year olds.

The Thomas Malory (which, we just started a couple of weeks ago) is not so thick, but the language is REALLY complex and romantic using all the words and turn of phrase from the time. After you get into it, it seems a little less awkward, sort of like reading Old English. But it is full of the authentic call to real chivalry.

And, the illustrations are beautiful. NC Wyeth is an American legend in illustration.

Depends upon what ages you're desiring this for, but here's a selection of what we like:

Tales of King Arthur ~ there are four of these books.

The Kitchen Knight ~ Arthur is not a central figure in this one.

Jim Weiss Version ~ this is in audio.

Boy's King Arthur

King Aurthur and his Knights

King Arthur and the Round Table ~ don't think I've read this one, but I'm pretty sure we have it.

My oldest boy has read and heard them all. He's the best one to ask which is his favorite, but he's sleeping right now. If he comes up with something else or one that stands out of this list, I'll repost later.
