Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can you recommend wholesome books for active boys ages 8-10? We've been through the Little House and Narnia series, and we will be finishing Because of Winn Dixie this week. I am looking for something that will inspire them with compassion and other virtuous thoughts.    But, at this age, I also realize that adventure would probably be a popular theme with them as well.

Thanks,
glin

My ds just started the Redwall series. I hope he'll enjoy it. I've heard wonderful things about it. He also read Cricket in Times Square, Trumpet of the Swan, Sign of the Beaver. I'm noticing he likes anything historical or that has to do with animals. I'm reading Long Winter to him right now and he's not sure whether or not he likes it.
