Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here's the whole set

I can't remember where I read a rave on these. I have one or two volumes. The bedtime stories two volumes are all of Thornton Burgess, but different illustrator.

The Children's Literature is a nice collection, but I'm really wondering about the Howard Pyle collections, The Wonder Clock, or Four and Twenty Marvelous Tales and Pepper & Salt, or Seasoning for Young Folk.

Like it? Recommend it?

What do you think of the illustrations in these books?

You can see samples from The Wonder Clock and Pepper and Salt at ISI Books. I love Howard Pyle's works and these look really lovely!

Blessings,
Kym
