My oldest ds 16 has read all the Redwall books as they came out, and loved them. I once started reading the first one to the younger kids but only got a few pages into it before they really lost interest. I'm hoping now that they are older (dd almost 8 and ds 9.5) they'd like them. We'll be going on vacation next month and I thought Redwall would be a good book to listen to in the car. Audible has 2 versions - the one narrated by Brian Jacques and full cast, and one narrated by Stuart Blinder. Both are unabridged, but the 2nd one is slightly longer. Both have very similar ratings on audible. I searched here on 4Real and saw one comment about Jacques' reading being too fast and some of the cast hard to understand. Has anyone listened to the newer one and have any opinion?

without a doubt Brian Jacques and fullcast audio!!! I have never heard the new, can you check them both out of the library for a test run? I don't think the first is fast or hard to understand. (probably the moles' speech just takes some time to understand)
