Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I think Natalia asked about these but I couldnt find the thread to comment .

I have to say I enjoyed many Tamora Pierce books, espcially the early ones but as her characters grow up
she starts to add a lot of chatacter traits that would be inappropriate for a Catholic.

Put tactfully-"relations" outside of marriage and "same-gender relations" Not graphic but blatant. And a lot of "goddess worship" in older chatacters too if I remember.

I found it unfortuate because I did think she was a good author and had fun story lines- The girl knight themes in particular. They just got too heavy handed with the feminist agenda as the characters grew up imho.

Our library puts the first half of the series in the childrens section and the second half in the teenager section.

I thought Id let you know because I think you said you hadn't read them but had gotten them for your dd.
Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't gotten them but my dd (she is almost 16) mentioned that she wanted to read them because a friend recommended them. She hasn't mentioned them again so I will go to forget about them and maybe she will too.

Thanks again,
