Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I don't know if this topic has come up or not, but anyone familiar with The Sister Grimm series? I read the first one aloud to my older son and he has listened to the next two on audio. I didn't particularly care for the first one much, but my son liked it.

Luke received Gregor the Overlander for Christmas from friends. Has anyone read this? I think I'll read it myself, but I'm interested in your opinions.

My ds is enjoying the Gregor series. I haven't read them myself. He is listening to them on audio and is on book #5. He told me if your son likes fighting animals he will enjoy this series.

I skimmed through Sisters Grimm at a bookstore and didn't care for the books. I picked up Gregor at the library because in the winter my ds listens to books in the afternoon so we are always on the lookout for something new.

My older kids and I really like the Sisters Grimm series. We have not read the Gregor series.

The Sisters Grimm series definitely gets darker as the series goes along. We like the first 3 better than the later ones.

I really like the Sisters Grimm books myself! :) They're not for little ones, though. Middle School & up, I'd say. My 14 yo son got me hooked on them two years ago, and we are eagerly anticipating the next release in May.

Thank you Carmen for mentioning the Gregor books. We just finished Gregor the Overlander as a family read-aloud and it was FANTASTIC! We all liked it immensely (even 17yod!). We'll start Prophecy of Bane on Monday.

THANKS again!
