The Author Fiesta for August '08 is coming along beautifully...many thanks to Mary M.
The featured author is Tasha Tudor. We chose her because her b-day is the end of August and she recently passed away in June '08.
We are remembering all things TASHA.
Mary M. already has several threads and posts up and running and we have very special plans simmering for a Tasha Tudor Remembrance Day on August 28th.
The idea came from a beautiful idea shared by Clarice of Storybook Woods:Tasha Tudor Day
In the upper righthand corner of the Author Fiesta blog you'll see a beautiful button created by the wonderful Clarice of Storybook Woods. She designed this especially for the remembrance date.
Please feel free to copy it to your blogs and share it around the blogosphere.
Stay tuned for more free downloads and links and ideas for the 28th.

There is so much being offered on our Tasha Tudor Author Fiesta I didn't want anyone to miss the opportunity to check it out.
It might even be better than the Patricia Polocco study...might.
I guess it depends on which author/artist your family prefers.

And for the knitters in the crowd , here's a free pattern for the Truly Tasha shawl ... I know some ladies made it this past year (Michele Q and others?) ...
Anyway, it's a VERY cute shawl and not hard at all .... I'm thinking I might have Maggie knit it while we celebrate on the 28th!

I was going to add a post on the Fiesta site with links to the finished shawls. I have the one for Meredith. Does Michele have a link? Anyone else have a link to a shawl they did? Please let me know. (I'll add Maggie when you she gets finished. )

I believe Rebecca started the whole craze.
I want to make this, but I keep punishing myself because a) would I wear it b) I haven't finished N's blanket and c) will I ever finish it? I am eyeing some scrumptious silk/cotton yarn (can't do wool) but haven't bit the bullet.

oh, thank you for letting us know, Rachel.
My son and I were just at the bookstore and I usually pick up a copy. I sent him looking for it on the magazine shelves and he came back saying it wasn't there.
Of course he's a 15 yr old boy so I suspected that's why he didn't locate it.
I went to look before we left, but he was right. It wasn't there. Perhaps they haven't brought the new ones in yet.

We have been learning to read the months of the year along with Tasha Tudor's book Around the Year.
We also made Christmas cookies and had Christmas fun along with Tasha yesterday.
Here is our fun!

UPDATE:
We're remembering All Things Tasha this week so it's not too late to join us.
Mary M. has shared two perfectly lovely (and do-able) posts on those oh-so-clever Sparrow Posts made famous by Tasha Tudor.
There are lots of things for you to do, read, and observe with your children tomorrow (Thursday, August 28th) which happens to be Tasha's b-day.
Don't miss introducing, sharing this whimsical, wonderful, waif of a woman with your children.
I also want to make sure you get a chance to read the piece that Louise wrote on Tasha Tudor: A Time to Keep It will certainly inspire you to celebrate the life and art of Tasha Tudor.

Here's a link to our Tasha Tudor day -- what a wonderful way to celebrate this lovely woman! We just love her illustrations ... and even the boys got into her descriptions of the dollhouse (of course, they wanted to make it a castle for attacking marauders! )
Sensational Fiesta this month, Cay -- thanks!
