Take a guess who the featured author/artist will be for the month of June:
It's a Mystery until June 3, 2008.
Guesses have to go in the comment's section of the above link. The first correct guess wins a free book by that author.
It's never too late to join in the Fiesta.
Get a 3-ring binder with a plastic pocket on the cover, print the front cover for your binder, find your library card, and get set for a brand new author!

Dear Jen,
You aren't missing anything, dear.
There are no clues.
You just have to take a wild guess.
It will be a talented children's author and/or illustrator.
Scour your child's bookshelf and see if you find an author who hasn't been mentioned yet.
Good luck!

Oh Cay -- that's wonderful -- and since you're doing it over June and July we'll have time to get settled, get a library card, and start the hunt for great books ....

Hoorrrayyyy!
I'm especially glad we have 2 months! Seeing as though we jumped in late in the game, we still have much exploring to do with Patricia Polacco. Now we have ...well, the new author, to look forward to, too!
My kids are loving this Author Fiesta!

DD6 just LOVES Mem Fox.
An area that Mem Fox has a major focus/passion for is early literacy which is apparent in her books. The rhyming and rhythm remind me in ways of Dr Suess. Different but her books really appeal to the emerging reader. Dd6 just loves to re-read her books on her own. I just finished updating my new websitewith pictures of the books we own
If anyone is looking for a cheap place to buy her books I really recommend
here
I'm so excited Cay that you picked an author that I can find lots of the books for, our library only carried three of PP's books. This time I should be able to access most.
BTW: If you had just hinted that the author wasn't American I might have guessed I was busy trying to think of American authors.

Laura, I do hope the 2 months is more do-able for participants and gives the families more time to spend getting to "know" an author.
Also, I think some might still be exploring Patricia Polacco (or not want to leave her quite yet ).
Mem Fox will appeal to the younger set so the older set could continue with Patricia Polacco.
But I also hope to treat parent readers to some of Mem Fox's wisdom. I've read two of her adult books written about reading for parents and she has lots there for us to learn from.
And, Erin, I had a feeling that most families could find "lots" of Mem Fox books at their libraries...or at least a comfortable sampling.

Joann and her 10 children never cease to amaze me:
We is the Green Sheep?
And, for the record, this book quickly became a favorite of my two girls. They reread it together and drew (on their own) pictures of the sheep.
I'm planning to have them rewrite the story.

Thanks so much for the compliment, Cay!
This book has taken over the #1 spot on the toddler favorite list over Brown Bear Brown Bear!
