Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone out there know how to get to the Beatrix Potter unit that was on the old Real Learning website? I tried to search for it here but the only link redirected me back to this forum.

Also, opinions on Cottage Tales?

Thanks,
DeAnn

I hope that link works! If not, go to http://www.archive.org and past in http://www.4reallearning.com and choose one of the archived versions from 05 or 06 or so, you can then scroll down and find it - and lots of other "old" stuff.

Wait - try this instead:

Ok - that worked! The Beatrix Potter link is on the left hand side.

Melissa Wiley authored that unit with me several years ago. I had no idea that web archive existed. Please do ask Lissa's permission before using the unit. I welcome you to use anything in this post on your rabbit trail.there are some thoughts on Cottage Tales in the comments of that post. And there are some more thoughts
here.

Thanks so much ladies.

That gives me a lot to work with. I will most certainly ask Lissa's permission before I use anything.

Also, thanks for the links to the Cottage Tales.

Happy Holy Week!
DeAnn

FYI...Just received a response from Melissa. She "OK"ed using the unit. Thanks again for all of the wonderful ideas and resources you all share with us so graciously.

Lissa said to please feel free to use this unit study.

ETA: Obviously, I need to read ALL the posts before responding.

Hi, everyone! Popping in quickly to say of course you should feel free to use that unit—we put it out there to be enjoyed by all. It brings back such happy memories for me...my little girls and I had such fun on that rabbit trail!

KC, thanks for letting me know about this thread.

Warm wishes,
Lissa

I like them in general. I find them very entertaining, and I like the sub-plot involving the animals.

Caveat if you are going to read aloud to little ones:

The third book includes the crime of bigamy. The fourth book has an abandoned newborn possibly born out of wedlock. These themes might raise questions which might not be appropriate at young ages. And, as in all of Susan Wittig Albert's books, there is a strong feminist undercurrent. The books are actually written for adults.
