Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

...what different books you've heard about are about? For instance, if I'm looking up an author, I check if my library has the books. But the card catalog tells me nothing about the book -- so, unless Amazon has it and has a write-up about the book, I don't know anywhere else to look.

What do y'all check to read a synopsis?

Any great online links?

Blessings and thanks!

That's an excellent question, Mary. I hope others have helpful answers for us. Amazon tends to be my best source. If that is not helpful, I'll check the Library of Congress. After doing a search for the book title, you can click on the "subjects/content" tab for a short synopsis of the story. It really is very short, but it can give you a basic idea of the story at least.

I wonderif Barnes and Noble and Borders have book descriptions on their websites? I haven't ordered from them ever on-line.
