This is probably the wrong forum, but I wasn't sure if it belonged in Living Books, so I'm posting here. Sorry if I guessed wrong!
Has anybody read The Door in the Wall by Marguerite de Angeli? Nate picked it up yesterday at Border's and it seemed like a good book from my brief look at the jacket, but hoped someone who has read it could tell me what they thought. I didn't buy it, but told him I'd look into it and put it on our list.
I guess I'm most concerned at how the Church is portrayed?
thanks!

It's a great story!
One of the main characters is a holy monk. No worries!
Beautiful picture of the middle ages.
Worth buying for sure.

This book is a priority read! One of my very favorites. If Mama hasn't read it, she is really missing something!
Peace,
Nancy

We just read this book also this year. It began a Marguerite D'Angeli search at the library. We are currently (and have been for awhile) reading aloud
The Black Fox of Lorne.

I'm bumping this up.... we just read this as a book on tape with Roger Rees as the narrator. It was fabulous! We all loved it.
We are also on a Marguerite de Angeli kick right now.
So far we've read Thee, Hannah, Henner's Lydia and The Skippack School.
Thumbs up for all of them!

I was pleasantly surprised at this, too...found it at a library sale, looked interesting, then saw it on the Ambleside booklist as well.
