I'm planning a unit study on Charlotte's Web--does anyone have any good ideas for this?
So far, I've got:
Study spiders
Farms
Pigs
I saw that HOAC has a lapbook, but money is tight, so I can't get that right now. Any free resources out there? Or has anyone already done a study on this book and could give me some good ideas?
Thanks!

Oh that's right, I nearly forgot Templeton. Ok, so now we'll add a study on rats.

When we did Charlotte's web, we loved the lists of what was in Avery's pockets, always something new and amusing. So we cut the back pockets out of old jeans and glued them into our lapbook and made paper cutouts of everything mentioned. It was great fun. Wouldn't it be fun to add to that a "What's in your packets?" survey of family and friends?

And don't forget the geese, either. Also, another topic might be "State Fairs"---and you could plan to attend one in your area, since they typically come around in the Fall. You might even enter one of the competitions-I hear they are often under-enrolled so kids can have a good shot at winning something. Many categories---it's not all bull and pig raising!

If you are up to purchasing something, Notebooking Nook has a set of pages to go along with this title. The set has 121 pages, so I'm sure it covers the entire book. They look really cute!

Here are some FREE samples (of the set) that you could use. FREE Sheep Pages for Charlotte's Web

Oh! I just remembered! I made a pig notebooking page for Beatrix Potter.
As crazy as this sounds, look in the Cats section(s). You will probably find one for your 8 year old in the regular lines and for your youngers in the primary or HWOT lines

And, now I feel quite silly because I see that you said money is tight, and I posted a link for Notebooking Pages...well, at least you can get the FREE sheep ones!!
I'm sorry!

Emily,
If you do a Google search on "Charlotte's Web Unit Study" you'll have a hard time narrowing down what to use .
Our first lapbook was based on Charlotte's Web.
Have fun!
