I sometimes think that real life stories with strong, powerful themes of forgiveness, where they intimately share their feelings of how and why they have forgiven a great injustice against themselves, to be very powerful - here are two I would recommend:

Left to Tell

Forgiving the Dead Man Walking

I remember lending out my Forgiving the Dead Man Walking to alot of people - to one particular aunty who was very angry towards God when her daughter had died in a house fire decades ago - after reading it, her comment was, "Well, it's got me thinking.."

I am lending out my Left to Tell at present and everyone who has read it feels it's power particularly about the virtue of forgiveness, you tend not to forget those sort of stories.
