Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The poll will close next Monday, the 16th..........probably

even if only 7 people vote

ps..........you can vote for more than one book by voting once and then again, in a separate vote

My other vote:

something just for fun. We've read all the other authors on the poll for school work. It's summer. I hope to not "work" as hard.

Something along the lines of _Five Quarters of an Orange_.

A fellow Catholic homeschooling mom said _Peace Like a River_ by Leif Enger is one of the best books she has ever read. She also enjoyed _Sea Glass_ by Anita Shreve.

I'll also throw out there _A Circle of Quiet_ by Madeleine L'Engle, though this one does not come with a personal recommend.

Looking forward to reading with some of my favorite ladies!

I second Peace Like a River. Loved it the first time through and would love to have a reason to pick it up again.

Okay.......the poll is officially closed

Looks like the top choice is a book about or by Edith Stein.

And, the second choice is a title by Jane Austen.

Please give recommendations on books about or by Edith Stein, so we can have a poll on choosing a title. We will read her third, to give us inspration just before we start our new school year. WE need to keep in mind availablity.

I will soon start a poll for the Jane Austen titles, so we can narrow it down. ANY of her books will be great for fun summer reading, trust me, I know! I read them all one summer..........very pregnant!

Enjoying the Scent of Water, finally.........
