Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I need a good book to read. I downloaded the Kindle for PC to my computer so that format would be good.

But I need something not too heavy but was thinking maybe something Catholic.. something for *me*.. I'm not as sleep deprived as I had been so I think I'm ready for something more complex than a children's book and I have all this time on my hands to do some reading and i'd like to put it to use

Any suggestions??

I thought this was slow reading, not because of deep, but intense, but I really, really enjoyed TEN WAYS TO DESTROY THE IMAGINATION OF YOUR CHILD by Anthony Esolen.

Reviews: Father McCloskey

Jeff Mirus

Have you read Maria Trapp's books? This would be a great time. The Story of the Trapp Family Singers and then Yesterday, Today, and Forever

One daughter, Agathe, recently published Memories Before and After the Sound of Music: An Autobiography.

I'm trying to think of others...but many aren't on Kindle.

What about I Believe in Love? I haven't read it in a few years but I don't remember it to be heavy.....only very, very beautiful and upifting.

Actually, I think I need to re-read this!

Good luck finding a great book Jodie!

My favorite, and I'm in need to rereading it, too.

you ladies are always so full of good ideas.. I also remembered that I've wanted to read some GK Chesterton and those are free (or close). So I grabbed that and see if anything grabs me.. so I'm still looking and especially if there's some free ones I can always get them and read later..

Once I'm out of the hospital I'll still have weeks of being careful at home.

These aren't on Kindle. I think Jacques Philippe's writings are phenomenal. All his books are short, but meaty and really help you to get to the heart of the matters. He really follows the Little Way, too.
