Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I like Fire in the Cloud for my daily meditations. There is also the Fr Groeschel one with daily meditations. The name is escaping me right now.

On top of that, I try to read one spiritual book, something different each year.

I really love Fr. Groeschel's Lenten book as well. Is is called The King, Crucified and Risen

Actually I love everything I've read by him. I feel as though I'm receiving advice from a very loving grandfather.

I read Happy Are You Poor by Thomas Dubay recently and thought it would be a good Lenten read. His book Fire Within would qualify as well, though thicker.

I highly recommend: WHAT JESUS SAW FROM THE CROSS

For Lent, I think I am going to work harder to get through Saint Augustine's Confessions. God "told" me to read once after mass ........ and Saint A is my saint for the year!

I am planning on rereading The Little Way of the Infant Jesus (formerly Wood of the Cradle, Wood of the Cross) by Carryll Houselander and I Believe in Love by Jean C.J. d'Elbee.

Oh, and the Bible.......I have been trying to increase my reading of the Bible....book by book, not necessarily in order.......with a journal nearby. I hope to step it up in Lent!
