Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear Moms,

I have been asked to draw up a proposal as to how to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph at our parish and local Catholic School.
1). How do you write a proposal?
2). I wanted it simple, but beautiful. I was thinking of introducing the school kids to the Italian tradition of blessing bread and eating it after Mass.
3). Also was hoping the priest might include the Litany of St. Joseph.
4). Was thinking of asking the school to purchase a few copies of the St. Joseph "Glory Story" to play in the classrooms after Mass while the children are eating? Or is that too bold to suggest?

Honestly, I'm not sure what the priest is looking for...but he just asked that I write a proposal.

Any other ideas?

Maggie, since you are on such a tight deadline, I would just put it in a business letter.

Your ideas are lovely! Go for it!

Where I live now, St. Joseph's day is a *huge* feast. So huge that my in-laws have been baking cookies for over a month now at church for an altar. It is a beautiful tradition. The leftovers are given to the local mission kitchen. There are plays, blessings, and processions. But you should probably start just the way you are thinking. Things can build over the years.

Well, I submitted a proposal! Please pray that the priest and principal accept it. :) Funny--the home schooling mama was asked to submit a proposal to help the school and parish celebrate St. Joseph. Anything to help bring the saints alive for the children!!
