Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am wondering how you celebrate feast days with your older kids. Do you include them in the parties with your local group? I would like to do this, but it seems that it is hard for the older kids to take time from their schoolwork for social time in the daytime.
Someone suggested meeting in the afternoons and having dinner picnics, which was a new idea. Does anyone do this?
Please share!!

So are you asking feast day celebrations in the home, or outside the home with your homeschool group?

I've never done too much feasting with my local group, mainly our All Saints Day party. With food allergies it's not as fun for us to celebrations that involve food.

But at home, it's great to have the older children plan and be part of the preparations for the celebrations. They love to take the leadership part, and this is such a great way to allow creativity.

They can plan and run games, crafts, and food ideas.
