Being a fan of social media, I'm very interested in how the Church is presented and received on it. So I thought I would start this topic to post interesting articles and to discuss the matter.

Have you heard the latest, that Pope Francis is giving us all time off from purgatory for using Twitter?! This past week I've weathered and mostly ignored the frenzy over nothing, because I'm used to confusion over our faith in general and indulgences in particular. Out of everything I read, The Atlantic did the best job of attempting to explain the matter.

Check out today's article in The Wall Street Journal about Our Thrifty Pope. Something I've noticed about current social media trends is the need to compare popes. By portraying Pope Francis as "Thrifty" are we implying that other Popes aren't? Is "thrifty" perceived as good and fitting for a Pope? For a CEO?
