Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I need an apologetic question/answer type book for my high school daughter. We have Karl Keatings "What Catholics Really Believe". I like it, but I would like something else too. (We also have Catholicism and Fundamentalism - but this is not really what I am looking for). She needs succinct answers to questions that kids are posing to her in music class at our local university and other places.

Any suggestions of books that your family likes?

I want a less philosophical book like "Why are we here?" or "Does God exist"? and more concrete like "What is the Biblical reason Catholics pray to the saints" type questions.

Blessings,
Stephanie

I really like the Prove It! series. There are four or five different ones on different topics (Jesus, prayer, the Church, etc.). They are easy reads but full of valuable information for Catholics. I think all of them are available for the Kindle, too, in case you want to check out a sample of the book first.

Seconding Eva's suggestion of Beginning Apologetics.

Yes! Beginning Apologetics is excellent and they have a nice cheat sheet too. All of the books in the series are great.
