Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

One of final talks of His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict drew from Romano Guardini. Benedict quotes from Guardini's final book, which was dedicated to him (Ratzinger at the time).

Anyone know which book this is? I did a quick look and not finding a good answer.

Jenn, I asked my dh and he thinks that, "Liturgie und liturgische Bildung (1966)" is Guardini's last book. I don't know if it is in English or what the title would be.
My translation of the title would be "The Liturgy and Liturgical Education".

I love Pope Benedict! He is such a humble man. Thanks for posting this!

I have always loved Guardini, and that's probably one of the many reasons why I've loved Benedict.

So I'm looking and don't see that there is an English translation of this book? Liturgie und liturgische Bildung?

The only English book is "Spirit of the Liturgy" but that was written in the 1930s.

Originally written in 1918... yes, that is a different book.
Maybe some Theologian will be moved to translate more Guardini now. Ignatius Press does a lot of translations from the German...
