Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ladies,

My youngest will be making his First Communion this year. I have gone through the threads in the past with my other kids, but was looking to add some more books to our prep. I came across these two authors. ( he reads with comprehension at 6-7th grade level so am not too worried about getting it)

RC Sproul

Grandpas Box

Both do not seem Catholic so was wondering if any of you have used them or heard of something that would make them unsuitable

I am not trying to teach using them as my core spine, but, more as additional reading to underscore the preparation that I will be doing.

On another note, has anyone seen or used Brandon Withrow

Again - not Catholic, so am not sure how the reformation is handled...

Thanks

Bev

I wouldn't use RC Sproul. I haven't read him myself. But from some friends who are protestant having read and discussed him, I would say he's strongly protestant and would have a fairly strong bias that way.
