Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been very busy making scapulars from scratch. I make them unbreakable, so a scapular for life. I also make them with a miraculous medal and St Benedict medal inside as well. Here is my tutorial and photos.

It is a really lovely craft for young Catholic girls in particular, and a beautiful idea for Catholic gift giving.

If anyone has any questions, please ask!

Wow!
These are amazingly beautiful.

I bead my scapulars. Keeps me from breaking out in an awful rash.

Trish, do you bead all over your scapular? Both sides? It sounds really lovely? You don't have photos at all of your creations?

I am soon to make a scapular for someone who develops a rash with the wool, so I'm going to cover both sides of the wool with Belfast Linen, and embroider onto the linen.

aussieannie, my dd (12) saw your spectacular scapular and asked if you sold them?

I'm definitely thinking about doing up kits...still thinking whether to make them outright...they are very time consuming..what I need to do is make one each for my family first and then look at it all again...maybe accept some private offers like yours, rather than advertising that I'm taking orders. I'll get back to you on it!

Tried pm'ing you, but you're full so this is what I wrote:

No pressure!

Family comes first     And then, only if you are interested and have time (ha!). I don't want to take the "fun" out of it, but if you do decide to sell them already made, count me in as your first customer! (pm me;)

p.s. You keep impressing me with every thread/post you submit Annie! Totally terrific, that's what you are!

Oh, I'm sorry about that! I'll go and do a clean up on my box!!

Ok, I'll pm you when I'm ready!

Well I'm not that I'm afraid..but with this craft it's developed after many years of being very unhappy with normal scapulars, we wear them out excessively, I'd sew on our miraculous medals and St Benedict medals so firmly and they'd STILL fall off..then I've been wearing the St Anthony's Brief of late..so the idea of placing all these medals and sacramentals together with the scapular is what has excited me most. Did anyone hear of the incredible story of the 3 year old Australian girl who was under the dual wheels of a 4 tonne bus and survived unharmed? She was wearing a miraculous medal around her neck..so to have a scapular that has these other precious sacramentals makes it easier for all members of the family to keep them on themselves.

I bead the entire back solid and around the picture in the front.
With brown seed beads. It really keeps me from breaking out,
And is 'heavy', which I like.
My last one broke and got lost. First time that ever happened to me.
I'll see if I can find an old broken one.
I think my son may have buried it before we moved.
I'm working on a new one now,
I can post a picture when I am done.

Hey, again.
I found my first one and took a pic.
It is dirty and just a practice so not very nice - I swear my next one looked really pretty. I got the pretty brown irredescent beads and everything.
I have no clue how to upload a picture here so I
stuck it on my blog for you to see there.

I'm technology challenged all in all.

Yes, I love it too! I love the white beading around the front. AND how you've attached your medals!
