Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Upon browsing Amazon I came upon this book that looked like it might be promising and wondered if anyone here had any experience with it.

Child's Book of Character Building

My big concern was that a review stated that the book uses the KJV for its Scripture verses... I think I'd want to print out a Catholic translation for each one to put in there.

Any thoughts? Other suggestions?

Just skimmed the first few pages of it on Amazon...looks pretty neat! You could compare the verses to see if there's anything substantially different, and print out translations for those that differ widely. I liked how it showed the virtue/character displayed in the Bible, and then in current life situations geared toward the child.

That's what I was thinking, too, Lori.

I also just saw another that looks excellent:

The Imitation of Christ for Children

It's based on The Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis, so it's definitely Catholic... Lisa Hendey gave it 5 stars.
