Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm pondering the all-year schooling with CHC, and I think we're going to go for it.

My only issue is - I want to leave their religion lesson plans as-is since it ties in with the church year so well, which gives me nothing for summer. DD will be K/1st next summer if all goes well.

Would using one or more of the CHC It's a Mystery programs work well to give some religious ed in summer? Or is there another program that might work better?

We'll also be doing our regular feast day program of reading about the saint/day and a small craft relating. I generally pick 2 a week to do of those.

The only problem I can see with the It's a Mystery Programs is that they are designed to be used over a week and may not stretch well enough to cover the summer.

My idea of a good summer program for my younger children is to gather up all the good books that I haven't had time to fit in during the rest of the year for reading aloud (see CHC's home library for young children).

A book of Catechism stories for young children such as Their Hearts are Their Garden
could work very well as a spine if desired.

If you started with the Retreat and then branched out from there with rabbit trails based on interests and such, you could have a really solid faith formation experience for the summer months.

As Ekbell said - that's a good time to just read some wonderful books you've not had the chance to just enjoy. Even Christmasy ones in the middle of summer ;)

Also the book "Chats with God's Little Ones" provides an excellent spine, with some art activity ideas (coloring page, as well as "look at the image and make your own however you like".
