Can you help me understand this question? When St. Joan of Arc was being questioned by the English, she was asked if she was in a state of grace. She replied, she didn't know. How can you not know you are if you are in a state of grace? I thought you had to give consent to a mortal sin in order for it to be mortal? Then you would know if you were in a state of grace.

Help?!
