I just replied to another thread here and made reference to Alice's ideas from last year for her Easter Vigil notebook/study.
You can find all the information and archives here.
There's still time to plan for Lent this year!

With the years flying by as quickly as they do, next Lent will be here before we all know it. We will certainly be adding to our notebooks, and I'll be starting new ones with my younger children. I'll look forward to revisiting this project with you next year! |

I wrote this toward the end of Lent last year, and boy was I right! It seems as if we only just put away these notebooks a week ago, and here we are again preparing for another seaon of Lent.
We will have plenty to do adding to our notebooks from last year. As I recall, we still needed to narrate and illustrate some of the readings! Also, my current third grader is able to do so much more than she was in second grade. My guess is that she'll be adding quite a bit herself this year. The first grader may want to do the same!

Alice,
I just love all of your ideas for the Easter Vigil Notebook and I am looking forward to sharing this with my kids this lent. I was wondering if you ever posted any pictures of your notebooks. I would love to see them. Thank you for all the wonderful information.
God Bless

Thank you so much, Robynn. I did not have a digital camera last year, so I did not post pictures, but there is an impressive array of photos at Meredith's ever-inspiring Sweetness and Light.
Now that we do have a digital camera, I will try to take a few photos of the girls' projects from last year and post them as well.

Easter Vigil Poem from CHC
I was reviewing, and re-printing the Easter Vigil plans so we can finally do this project, or at least some of it this year.
I noticed the poem I had put a link in for was not there anymore, well the link didn't work. BUT, it's at Catholic Heritage in the FREE CURRICULUM under *Little Petals Poetry*. I put the link above to the free curriculum so you can find it more easily. I hope it works.
The poem is titled "Easter Vigil". I'm going to use it for copywork for them in their notebooks.
And THIS YEAR, our suffering came in the form of everyone but one of us getting a horrible week long flu, but thankfully, we are pretty much getting OVER it now! So this year, our suffering came earlier, and we'll be able to do this project!!!

Alice,
Will you be adding to your notebooks this year, adding in some of the Triduum as we talked about last year? I'm just wondering what your plans are this year. I was so sad we missed out on actually implementing them last year, though just participating in the discussion allowed the Easter Vigil to be more meaningful to us.
I can't wait for this year!

Yes, Tracy, we are looking forward to revisiting this project and adding some embellishment. It will be fun exchanging ideas again this Lent!

A beginner's question-
Do you place all of your child's narrations and "stuff" in a 3 ring binder? Is that the notebook?
Thanks
